The following reflections can help us stay grounded in reality and conscious of what's truly important:
1. I have been blessed with a life in which I can do many things to further my own happiness and the happiness of those around me.
2. Life is short; there is no time to waste.
3. The journey through life isn't supposed to be easy; it's supposed to be real.
4. Our karma is the one thing we carry with us always.

Good.
Do I need some grounding serenity these days.
Meditation! Works for me. Or reading and pondering the words of wise teachers PLUS meditation.
But you know me, I loves me some zen shit.
Love this stuff, always get something out of it. Thank you!
Big fan of #4. I read a version of it somewhere that I liked so much I put it on a T-shirt:
"Karma is merciless."
It's not always obvious and sometimes takes years, but yeah. When I was younger I couldn't see it, but now I am starting to go ... oh wow. And I don't have to believe in any gods "out there" either, just the logical consequences of actions every time.
Love this. A reflection on #1 came 'round to me just yesterday. Numbers 2 and 3 are the change-makers in my life. Number four is one I often forget but shouldn't.
